probably the only era with n/ne attack animations for drakes with spears and halberds! would be happy to be proved wrong on this one...
this era/ruleset aims to redesign units/factions (changing random traits, abilities, attack specials etc) and rebalance multiplayer mode on random maps for long-lasting challenge (also from AI opponents).
it is fully functional and balanced but incomplete yet.
- ''altered'' era with single-race factions and custom rules (no healing on advancement, killed units go to recall lists, recruiting in villages, gold subsidy to losing players etc, see forum topic or in-game help for full list)
- UI additions as part of ''altered'' era (warnings about villages lost since last turn, trait icons near units' health bars etc)
- ''altered'' random map generators that use most terrain types in abundance and add special locations for 'healing hamlets' custom rule
- ''altered'' UI theme (disabled by default)
balanced to roughly match default era's factions some of which are still included for playtesting.
tested on included ''Altered Vast Random map'' (100x100 hexes) with fog of war enabled, shroud disabled, experience modifier 100%, village income 1 gold per turn, 8 RCA-AI opponents.
